Technician, Refrigeration​/HVAC

Role Overview

As a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician at a local Walmart store, you will support and oversee repair of the company’s refrigeration and HVAC equipment using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, digital and hand tools, and safety procedures.

• Maintain and repair refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using hand, power, and digital tools.
• Use the work order management system to receive, document, and support repair work orders for store associates.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, and test facilities and equipment to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations by following Walmart’s safety policies and environmental guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds and work at heights on ladders as needed.

• 2 years of commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance experience.
• Large scale rack refrigeration experience.
• Type I/Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR report.
• Minimum age 18 with a high school diploma or equivalent.

• Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
• Mechanical license in the city and/or state where the job is located.

The hourly wage for this position ranges from $23.00 to $45.00, with the actual rate based on experience, qualifications, and job classification. Additional premiums may apply based on schedule, facility, or specific work performed.
