Potholer​/Laborer

Job Overview

Primoris Services Corporation’s Q3 Contracting division is hiring laborers to perform potholing using vacuum excavation equipment for both hydro and air. The position requires a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; a CDL is preferred.

• Safely locate and expose underground utilities per site plans and markings.
• Operate various construction and excavation tools (e.g., shovels, probes).
• Read and interpret utility locate markings and maps.
• Maintain accurate records of potholing locations and findings.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including traffic control where required.
• Assist with general labor duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Inspect and maintain potholing equipment to ensure proper functioning.

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Prior experience in potholing, excavation, or utility locating (preferred but not required).
• Knowledge of underground utility systems and safety practices.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL a plus).
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical labor daily.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

• Experience operating vacuum trucks or hydro‑excavation equipment.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
• Familiarity with utility locating technologies.

• Competitive market pay; pay rate determined by union.
• Additional compensation for a Class A CDL with tanker endorsement.
• Paid weekly.
• Union position; additional benefits may be offered directly through the union.
