Position
HVAC Technician – Maintenance
Location:
Pueblo, Colorado
Join CF&I Steel, L.P. as an HVAC Technician in our Maintenance team. Responsibilities include installing, repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining air conditioning and heating units, and supporting other maintenance activities.
Responsibilities- Install and repair air conditioning units, heaters, controls, wires, gas lines, compressors, motors, contractors, belts, filters, pipe fittings, gaskets, tubing, oil, freon, and other materials.
- Operate mobile equipment and pick-up vehicles, ensuring safety and following lockout procedures.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, HVAC schematics, and technical manuals.
- Maintain clean, organized work area and equipment.
- Assist maintenance personnel with tasks as needed.
- Plan and schedule work, arranging for tools and transportation.
- Clean air and heater units and conduct routine preventive maintenance.
- Completed Air Conditioning Repairman Apprenticeship or equivalent with minimum 3 years as an HVAC Journeyman.
- EPA Certified in Type I, Type II, Type III, and Universal Refrigerant Transition and Recovery under 40 CFR part 82 subpart
F. - OSHA 10 certification and required equipment certifications.
- Valid Colorado driver’s license and mobile equipment qualification.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting, testing, repair, and maintenance of condensing units, furnaces, and mobile air units.
- Sheet‑metal work, gas line and regulator installation, and sizing for new installations.
- Self‑starter with ability to work independently, manage time, and handle multiple tasks.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to collaborate across levels.
- Physical ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift up to 75lb, and perform repetitive motions.
- Exposure to elevated noise, vibration, extreme cold, and heat.
- Work near moving parts, electrical currents, scaffolding, and high places.
- Potential use of respirator in certain atmospheric conditions.
- Hourly rate: $35.76.
