The Maintenance Technician – HVAC will be located onsite in Pueblo, CO and reports to the Facilities and Maintenance Manager.
This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC systems and related mechanical equipment across Voyager's facilities — ensuring optimal climate control, air quality, and energy efficiency in a mission-critical manufacturing and operations environment.
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems including rooftop units, split systems, chillers, boilers, air handlers, VAV systems, exhaust fans, and associated controls.
- Perform preventive maintenance on all HVAC equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and facility schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant‑related faults using appropriate test equipment including manifold gauges, multimeters, and combustion analyzers.
- Safely handle, recover, and recharge refrigerants in compliance with EPA Section 608 regulations; maintain accurate refrigerant logs and comply with all environmental requirements.
- Read and interpret HVAC schematics, equipment manuals, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings to execute work accurately and safely.
- Inspect, clean, and service ductwork, coils, filters, drains, belts, and other components; identify and elevate issues that require engineering review or capital repair.
- Apply and enforce proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and all applicable OSHA safety standards.
- Use of personal protective equipment required.
- Coordinate with facilities leadership, contractors, and project managers to support maintenance schedules, capital projects, and new equipment commissioning activities.
- Document all work performed including maintenance logs, service records, and parts usage; maintain accurate records in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Perform other job duties assigned to support operational needs.
- High School Diploma or GED with 3+ years of hands‑on experience in commercial or industrial HVAC maintenance, repair, and installation.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair a wide range of HVAC equipment including rooftop units, split systems, chilled water systems, and building automation controls.
- Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards including ASHRAE, OSHA, and local mechanical codes.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project site as required.
- State or journeyman HVAC license or equivalent trade certification.
- EPA Section 608 Universal Certification (or Type I/II minimum) for handling and recovery of refrigerants.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (General Industry).
- Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS) and DDC controls; familiarity with Bekhoff BAS
