Temporary position (9 months or less) – paying $17.00 per hour. Employment starts now through 11/01/2026.
Aquatic Nuisance Species Inspector- Staff the park ANS (aquatic nuisance species) inspection station.
- Conduct physical boat inspections and boater interviews.
- Provide information and assistance to the boating public (distribute brochures, promote ANS education, educate about State Park regulations).
- Cleaning and light maintenance duties of interior and exterior of ANS inspection areas, including maintenance of facilities and grounds.
- Accurate counting and recording of all boat inspections, written or by phone application software.
- Document and report visitor complaints.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Operate and perform routine maintenance on State‑owned vehicles and equipment.
- Ensure quality customer service and maintain cleanliness of public facilities.
- Provide information and assistance to visitors.
- Assist with carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical work and transporting materials and supplies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Staff the park entrance station and/or visitor center.
- Provide information and assistance to visitors (distribute maps/brochures, orient visitors to facilities, promote education programs, educate on state park regulations).
- Provide information to the boating and non‑boating public.
- Sell park passes, permits, books, maps, clothing, firewood and other novelties.
- Sell gift certificates, search and rescue cards, boat registrations, OHV registrations, snowmobile registrations, fishing and hunting licenses as required.
- Operate a cash register and balance shift box at end of each shift.
- Answer telephone calls, transfer messages and provide customer support.
- Photocopy and file documents.
- Prepare campground reservation forms and documents.
- Document and report visitor complaints.
- Clean and maintain interior and exterior of gates, visitor center and offices (litter pickup).
- Assist with special events or programs within the park.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Must be able to operate a cash register.
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
- Must be able to work autonomously with little supervision.
- Must possess strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be able to work an 8‑hour shift at the entrance station and take lunch in the station.
- Must be able to share knowledge of DNR policies and help visitors with park procedures.
- Must be able to follow safety and environmental regulations.
Fleet Vehicle Compliance

Workers who operate or are assigned a State‑owned vehicle must maintain a safe driving record and a valid driver’s license.
