Flight Software Manager

Responsibilities

• Produce and manage software engineers within Lunar Permanence
• Work with various subsystem stakeholders
• Ensure mission success of the lunar vehicles’ safety-critical flight software
• Engage with leads and engineers from different subsystems
• Guide the software team’s technical decisions
• Coach, mentor, and provide feedback to developers
• Collaborate with NASA and National Team Partners
• Develop the Lunar Transportation system that will return humans to the Moon

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, aeronautics, or a related field
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree or a PhD degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
• 5+ years of experience working in spaceflight or other safety-critical industries
• 5+ years of experience in embedded systems software engineering
• Proficiency in Jama or a similar requirements management tool
• Experience with Jira or a similar activity management tool
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills
• Ability to earn trust and maintain positive and professional relationships
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
