About the Position

We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join the Quality team, reporting directly to the Quality Manager.

This position is based at our office in Pulaski TN.

As the Quality Engineer at Marelli, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of Marelli’s automotive lighting products from development through mass production. This role works closely with engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams to uphold Marelli’s quality standards, support customer requirements, and drive continuous improvement for headlamps, rear lamps, and other vehicle lighting solutions.

Your Responsibilities will be:
  • Quality Assurance: Establish, implement, and maintain quality control processes specific to lighting product designs, assembly, and testing.
  • Product Development Support: Collaborate with R&D and Product Engineering to review specifications, validate prototypes, and ensure robust launch of new lighting products.
  • Customer Management: Serve as primary contact for customer lighting quality concerns, coordinating containment, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Supplier Quality: Evaluate and qualify suppliers of lighting components (LEDs, lenses, housings, electronics), conduct audits, and support continuous improvement activities.
  • Process Improvement: Promote best practices in automated assembly, optical validation, and reliability testing; lead initiatives for reducing defects and enhancing efficiency.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to automotive standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001) and customer specifications for lighting performance and safety.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records related to product validation, PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), 8D reports, and audit findings.
  • Quality Metrics: Monitor and report on key performance indicators such as defect rates, customer complaints, warranty returns, and process capability.
What Qualifications you will bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, or related field).
  • Minimum 3 years of quality engineering experience in the automotive lighting industry or similar field.
  • Strong knowledge of lighting technologies (LED, halogen, adaptive lighting systems) and manufacturing processes (injection molding, electronics assembly, sealing).
  • Proficient in automotive quality tools: FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, PPAP, 8D problem solving, and APQP.
  • Familiarity with lighting validation methods: photometric testing, thermal cycling, ingress protection, and reliability assessments.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • Experience working with global OEMs and Tier 1 automotive customers is preferred.
  • Abiltiy to work in USA without visa sponsorship
Other skills that we would welcome:
  • Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification.
  • Experience with quality information systems and statistical analysis tools.
  • Multicultural, cross-functional teamwork experience.
  • Knowledge of Marelli’s lighting products and processes
