This role involves providing critical care coordination and direct patient care in a high-acuity ICU setting.
Responsibilities- Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
- Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care as appropriate.
- Documents patient care accurately and timely.
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
- Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and mobility.
- Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharge planning, referrals, and psychosocial support needs.
- Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
- Licensure:
Current Tennessee or compact-state RN license; must file Tennessee paperwork within 30 days of hire if licensed from a compact state. - Education:
Associate's degree required; BSN preferred. - Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP within 90 days of hire; HWC within 6 months;
Basic Arrhythmia course within 90 days. - Experience:
One year of prior ICU experience preferred. - Skills:
Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a high-stress environment.
