Registered Nurse (RN), Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Job Type: PRN | Day

Schedule: 2X12 per 6 weeks; 7a-7p; 2 weekends per quarter; 1 major holiday per year

• Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

• Current Tennessee or compact state RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school.
• Certifications:
  
  BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, HWC, Basic Arrhythmia course, all within specified time frames after hire.
• Required skills:
  
  Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision, work in a stressful environment.
• Experience:
  
  One-year previous experience preferred.
• Education:
  
  Associate's degree required, BSN preferred.
