The campus provides modern, well‑equipped facilities for the career technical education programs as well as for the college transfer programs.

Approximately 4,000 students comprise the student body.

The people employed by New River Community College embrace the philosophy that all individuals should have an opportunity to develop and extend their skills and knowledge to increase awareness of their roles and duties as citizens. Other duties will include assisting students with completing the FAFSA and with questions concerning awards, disbursements, and various other financial aid issues, conducting financial aid workshops for high schools in the service region and coordinating student outreach for various groups of students, and performing additional duties as assigned.

The specialist is required to work occasional evenings and weekend hours.

This position is primarily based on the NRCC campus in Dublin with scheduled weekly shifts at the Christiansburg site.
