Opportunity

Under general supervision, the Administrative Assistant 3 performs a variety of professional level assistant duties for the Office of Research (OR). This position provides support for key OR committees, purchasing, travel, financial monitoring/reconciliation, personnel processes, and daily reception.

Time allocation: 25% Office of Research Committee Support; 25% Financial/Budget Support; 25% Administrative Support; 15% Personnel Support; 10% Other.

Additional Information

This is a full time (100%) permanent position. Overtime eligible.

Monthly salary: $3,925 to $5,271 (Range 44, Steps A-M). Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28. In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent AND three years of clerical, office or administrative experience, OR an Associate's degree in business administration, public administration, or a closely related field may substitute for experience, AND one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant 2 OR two years as an Administrative Assistant 1 OR equivalent education/experience.
  • Demonstrated computer experience with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Demonstrated experience effectively handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well as part of a team, interact with diverse groups of people in a positive and professional manner and maintain good working relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated work experience arranging and reconciling business travel.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of WSU Business Policies and Procedures.
  • Prior WSU work experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of research misconduct process and/or university compliance in general.
  • Demonstrated experience using an electronic calendaring system.
  • Experience in legal environment.
