Position Summary
The Director of Worship & Social Media is a Spirit-filled leader who cultivates an atmosphere where students encounter the living God through worship, beauty, and bold proclamation. This role carries the heart of the New Evangelization, awakening college students to the power of the Holy Spirit, forming them as missionary disciples, and sending them as leaders for the Church.
Rooted in Sacred Scripture and fully aligned with the teachings and liturgical life of the Catholic Church, this leader shapes worship that is reverent, vibrant, charismatic, and authentically Catholic. Through music, creativity, and digital evangelization, the Director helps students experience the Gospel not as an idea, but as a life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ.
This role requires flexibility, creativity, and a missionary heart. All responsibilities are contingent upon the gifts and collaboration of the individual and the broader staff team. In addition to primary responsibilities, this Director will personally lead one discipleship study or men’s/women’s group, investing directly in student formation.
Key Responsibilities Worship Leadership – Forming a Culture of Encounter- Lead and coordinate music for Sunday Mass, major liturgical celebrations (including the Easter Vigil), and key ministry moments.
- Lead and shape worship for Damascus Night, retreats, and evangelistic gatherings with a charismatic, Spirit-led posture.
- Recruit, train, and disciple student musicians, forming them not only in excellence but in prayer, humility, and missionary identity.
- Develop and sustain a vibrant music ministry that raises up leaders and sends them as witnesses.
- Coordinate worship teams for ministry events, fostering unity, reverence, and bold praise.
- Collaborate closely with OCIA leadership in preparing for the Holy Week, ensuring liturgical beauty and theological integrity.
- Demonstrate proficiency in at least one primary instrument (piano preferred) and confidently lead vocally.
Worship should be prayerful, sacramental, and expectant—creating space for students to respond to the Holy Spirit and surrender their lives to Christ.
Arts & Environment – Revealing the Beauty of the Gospel- Oversee visual, environmental, and creative elements for major liturgical seasons and evangelistic events.
- Form and mentor student artists and creatives, helping them see their gifts as instruments of evangelization.
- Cultivate spaces that reflect beauty, reverence, and joy, drawing hearts toward deeper encounter.
- Lead and oversee social media as a strategic tool for evangelization and proclamation of the Gospel.
- Creatively promote major initiatives including Kickoff Week, retreats, OCIA, and Damascus Night.
- Share testimonies of conversion, sacramental milestones, and stories of discipleship.
- Develop compelling, Scripture-rooted content that calls students into deeper faith and missionary living.
- Collaborate with Outreach to amplify evangelistic efforts and extend invitation beyond the walls of the student center.
This role sees digital platforms not merely as communication tools, but as mission territory.
- Work closely with Outreach, Student Leadership, and OCIA teams to ensure unified vision and mission.
- Participate fully in weekly staff meetings, contributing creatively and spiritually to the overall direction of the ministry.
- Remain adaptable and flexible, responding to the promptings of the Holy Spirit and the evolving needs of the mission.
- Personally lead one discipleship study or men’s/women’s group, forming students into missionary disciples of Jesus Christ.
- Practicing Catholic in full communion with the Church, living a sacramental and prayer-centered life.
- College degree & minimal experience of 3 years leading
- Deep love for Sacred Scripture, the Holy Spirit, and the mission of the Church.
- Strong musical skill and demonstrated experience in worship leadership.
- Experience in campus ministry or missionary work preferred.
- Background with organizations such as FOCUS or SPO is desirable.
- Familiarity and comfort with charismatic prayer and Spirit-led worship within Catholic tradition.
- Strong creative instincts and excellent communication skills.
- A flexible, team-oriented, and mission-driven posture.
