Career Track Scholarly Assistant/Associate/Professor in Accounting and Director of Accounting Relations
Position: full‑time, 9‑month, non‑tenure track faculty at Washington State University Pullman campus. The appointment is open rank career‑track with a renewable 3‑year term and an anticipated start date of August 16, 2026.
The OpportunityIn addition to teaching responsibilities, the successful candidate will serve as Director of Accounting Relations, supporting the Department of Accounting and advancing student success. The role is set to grow the Accounting Connections program, connecting students, faculty, alumni, employers, and other stakeholders to enhance professional learning and placement opportunities.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate courses in accounting or business (approximately 40% of time).
- Direct and manage all aspects of the Accounting Connections program, including:
- Acting as the liaison between the department and employers such as public accounting firms, industry, and government agencies.
- Managing the Accounting Connections Center and its operations.
- Securing mentors, selecting scholarship recipients, and allocating resources for communications and marketing.
- Reporting results to funding entities and managing fiscal processes.
- Leveraging resources and networks to strengthen program delivery.
- Developing fiscal and operational strategies and ensuring compliance with university policies.
- Compiling annual reports on recruiting and placement to track program impact.
- Develop and implement strategies for student recruiting, professional development, and placement.
- Collaborate with accounting faculty and staff to enhance student success and departmental goals.
- Earned Master’s degree in accounting, business, or a closely aligned field from a nationally or internationally recognized university.
- Demonstrated ability or potential to support and build the Accounting Connections Center as director, including developing partnerships with professionals, alumni, and donors.
- Evidence of teaching introductory accounting or business at the undergraduate level, or experience advising accounting students.
- Experience working collaboratively and motivation to contribute to a collegial departmental atmosphere.
- None beyond the core qualifications listed above.
- Six years of experience as an assistant career‑track faculty or equivalent.
- A record of teaching, research, and service accomplishments consistent with appointment at associate level, per institutional promotion guidelines.
- Six years of experience as an associate career‑track faculty or equivalent.
- A record of teaching, research, and service accomplishments consistent with appointment at full level, per institutional promotion guidelines.
- Evidence of experience in developing academic programs and fostering student engagement.
- Relevant industry experience in entrepreneurship.
- Assistant: $95,000 - $110,000
- Associate: $105,000 - $125,000
- Full: $115,000 - $140,000
