Washington State University's College of Arts & Sciences (CAS) General Advising is now accepting applications for an Assistant Director of Student Recruitment, responsible for developing, directing, and managing student recruitment strategies and activities for all undergraduate majors in the College of Arts and Sciences. The role works in consultation with the CAS Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies, CAS Director of Academic Advising, and CAS chairs and directors, and in collaboration with CAS Communications, University Enrollment Management, University Marketing and Communications, and University Admissions and Recruitment.
You will be responsible for planning and implementing College recruitment activities and coordinating College and departmental involvement in university-wide recruitment activities; providing recruitment, admission and enrollment statistics and reports to the College and its departments/schools. You will also interface with the CAS advising community, coordinate and develop effective marketing and communication tools consistent with university-wide marketing strategies, and represent the College on various university-level committees charged with improving recruitment, retention, and placement of students.
In managing and supervising the CAS Student Ambassador Program, you will serve as advisor for the registered student organization attached to the program, potentially manage and supervise student interns, and manage budget allocations for CAS recruitment and retention activities, materials, and programming.
This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. The position is overtime eligible.
SalaryMonthly Salary: $4,061.90 to $6,092.84, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required QualificationsPositions require a Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. Experience leading or directing the work of others. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
- One or more years of full‑time experience leading or directing the work of others.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and ZOOM.
- Previous experience working in customer service.
- Strong ability to organize and clearly communicate ideas, both verbally and in writing.
- Excellent interpersonal skills that foster effective, positive interactions with students, their supporters, faculty, staff, and administrators.
- Experience working with individuals differing in perspective, personal interests/goals, and background.
- Ability to work nights and weekends, and travel overnight as necessary.
- Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM
7.10 and departmental driving standards.
- Previous experience at institutions of higher education.
- Experience mentoring and leading undergraduate students.
- Knowledge of WSU admissions and recruitment practices.
- Knowledge of College of Arts and Sciences academic programs.
