The WSU ROAR Employment Services Coordinator leads the employment services pillar of the program through the development and implementation of individualized employment supports, employer partnerships, career development systems, and experiential learning opportunities for students with intellectual disabilities (). This position coordinates career planning activities, supervises employment coaches and employment-related supports, develops and maintains inclusive workplace partnerships, and supports students in developing professional, self-advocacy, and workplace readiness skills.
The Employment Services Coordinator collaborates closely with students, families, employers, university departments, and community agencies to ensure students have meaningful opportunities for career exploration, skill development, and competitive integrated employment experiences aligned with individual goals identified through Person-Centered Planning.
Additional InformationThis is a full-time (100% FTE), temporary position. The position is overtime eligible.
Temporary End Date:
July 31, 2028. Renewal is dependent on the need for extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment.
Monthly Salary: $4,061.90–$6,092.80 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications. In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications- A Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. Experience leading or directing the work of others. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
- Experience supporting individuals with disabilities in employment, transition planning, or community-based services.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Special Education, Vocational Rehabilitation, or related field.
- Experience working with young adults/students with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in post-secondary transition or employment settings.
- Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating transition plans, employment supports, programs, policies, and practices.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including documentation and presentations.
- Familiarity with person-centered planning, behavior intervention strategies, supported decision-making, and response to intervention frameworks.
- Experience addressing the needs of young adults with IDD in post-secondary programs, high school transition programs, or community-based employment settings.
- Knowledge of research, theories, literature, and trends in transition, employment, and inclusive education, and ability to apply this knowledge.
- Ability to plan and implement evidence-based transition and employment practices.
- Ability to interact effectively with diverse populations (administrators, faculty, staff, students, employers, families, community partners).
