Overview

The Washington State University Division of Academic Engagement & Student Achievement (DAESA) are now accepting applications for an Executive Director of University-Wide Advising. In this role, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight for undergraduate academic advising across WSU campuses. As the Executive Director of University Advising, you will coordinate system-wide efforts within the institution’s new Shared Advising Model. You will ensure the delivery of high-quality, equitable, and student-centered advising services that support student success, retention, and timely graduation for a diverse undergraduate student population dispersed across six campuses.

You will collaborate with academic departments, colleges, campuses, student services areas, and university leadership to implement best practices and continuous improvement in advising.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities and expectations are described in the role as providing strategic leadership and oversight for undergraduate academic advising across WSU campuses, coordinating system-wide efforts within the Shared Advising Model, and ensuring delivery of high-quality, equitable, student-centered advising services that support student success and timely graduation.

Salary and Benefits

Monthly Salary: $8,338.26 to $10,828.91;
Commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Required Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and eight (8) years of progressively responsible relevant experience, which has included at least three (3) years of managerial experience. A Master’s degree in a related field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Education and experience can be tailored to fit the specific organizational entity/directorial assignment.
  • Commitment to NACADA recommended advising practices.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctorate in a related field.
  • Experience in a shared advising model at a research university.
  • Proven success in leading cross-functional teams and university-wide initiatives.
