DEFINITION OF POSITION: The Emergency Substitute Teacher will work as an on‑call teacher to assist schools on a program need basis.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Ability to obtain a Washington State Emergency Substitute Certificate, including successful completion of a fingerprint/background check
- Experience working with school‑aged children
- Bilingual
- Experience teaching appropriate grade level and/or subject areas
- Maintain a positive, calm, and safe learning environment
- Implement effective lessons in the absence of the regular teacher
- Provide assistance and guidance to individual students
- Maintain appropriate student records, including daily grades and attendance reports
- Utilize technology to deliver lessons using online platforms (Seesaw, Google, etc.)
- Enforce school rules and monitor student behavior
- Work collaboratively with other staff and administrators
- Maintain confidentiality
- Communicate clearly, both orally and in writing
- Regularly demonstrate professionalism in appearance, actions, decisions, and overall performance
- Work with minimal supervision and be flexible
- Terms of Assignment:
On call as needed - Salary: $150 per day, or $75.00 per half day
