- Mechanism design

- Tolerance studies
- Qualify and monitor component and custom part vendors.
- Generate and maintain accurate bills of materials. Provide accurate labor and material estimates under supervision.
- Review and support documentation, mechanical designs, and manufacturing process design.
- Write test plans, conduct design tests, and review results.
- Maintain current and accurate project notebooks.
- Communicate and collaborate with customers using verbal discussion, written correspondence, teleconferences, technical reports, papers, presentations, and product documentation.
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
- Education/experience in heat transfer
- Computer-aided design
- Materials and mechanics
- Part and assembly design
- Problem solving skills
- Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
- Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
- Background check results satisfactory to SEL
- Negative drug test result(s)
- Education/experience in electromechanical packaging design
- Industrial manufacturing processes (welding, machining, injection molding, etc.)
- Solid Works modelling and simulation
- FEA/CFD simulation using ANSYS (or other finite element analysis software)
- Writing procedures and system-level test plans
- Design of experiments and results data analysis/statistics

We anticipate filling this position as an Associate Mechanical Engineer $84,000 — $124,000. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the salary range may differ if filled at a different level. Our ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
