Job Title
Respiratory Therapist
Pay RangeBase pay range: $34.75 - $52.49 hourly (may vary based on knowledge, skills, and experience).
Work ScheduleNights; every other weekend and rotating holidays.
Position OverviewProvides respiratory care to patients ranging from premature infants to elderly individuals with pulmonary disease. Works under physician supervision and delivers a range of respiratory care modalities on scheduled and emergency basis.
Responsibilities- Operate mechanical ventilators.
- Operate non-invasive mechanical ventilators.
- Operate high-flow oxygen delivery systems.
- Draw umbilical cord gases.
- Draw arterial blood gases.
- Determine appropriateness and participate in developing and recommending modifications to respiratory care plans.
- Gather information and interpret data regarding patient history, lab results, radiological reports, and other pertinent results regarding patient care.
- Demonstrate willingness to learn new techniques and equipment.
- Initiate and participate in communication to assure effective delivery of respiratory care.
- Communicate with patients and families in a respectful manner.
- Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
- Credentialed through the NBRC as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
- Licensed in the State of Washington as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
- Excellent communication skills with physicians, colleagues, and patients.
- Ability to learn and utilize new technologies.
- Ability to manage time, tasks, and resources appropriately.
- Two or more years of experience.
- Possess BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications within 6 months of hire.
