Position OverviewAn MRI Technologist is a healthcare professional who specializes in operating magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment to create detailed images of the body's internal structures. MRI technologists play a crucial role in diagnostic imaging and patient care, using advanced technology to help physicians diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions.
A Day in the Life- Perform MRI scans on patients according to physician orders.
- Position and instruct patients for imaging procedures to obtain clear and accurate images.
- Operate MRI equipment and adjust scan parameters to capture high‑quality images.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures, including monitoring for adverse reactions to contrast agents.
- Maintain detailed patient records and documentation of imaging exams.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations related to magnetic fields, radiation, and patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Provide education and support to patients undergoing MRI scans.
- Stay current on developments in MRI technology through ongoing training and professional development.
- Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and compassion in all interactions with patients and colleagues.
- Possess a current Washington State License as a Radiologic Technologist Certification.
- ARRT registration in MRI.
- One or more years’ experience in radiography, preferably in MRI.
- Clinical skills for conducting examinations and procedures.
- Strong communication skills with patients and healthcare team.
- Demonstrating empathy and compassion towards patients.
- Critical thinking for evaluating patient needs and developing treatment plans.
- Attention to detail in documenting patient information accurately.
- Ability to work effectively in a healthcare team.
- Efficient time management for prioritizing tasks and appointments.
