Position OverviewWe are seeking a diligent and dedicated individual to join our team as an Environmental Services Worker at Pullman Regional Hospital. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall maintenance of our hospital facilities. The ideal candidate will possess excellent attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and hygienic environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Responsibilities(A Day in the Life)
- Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming floors, corridors, and patient rooms.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and floors, ensuring they are stocked with necessary supplies.
- Dispose of trash and medical waste in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Clean and disinfect high‑touch surfaces such as door handles, light switches, and handrails.
- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies as needed.
- Follow proper infection control protocols to prevent the spread of germs and pathogens.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to appropriate personnel.
- Assist with special cleaning projects as assigned, such as floor waxing, carpet shampooing, and deep cleaning.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times when interacting with patients, families, and hospital staff.
- Willingness to undergo background checks and drug screening as required by the hospital.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work, preferably in a healthcare setting. (Optional)
