Join a multidisciplinary behavioral health team that has served the Palouse region for more than 50 years. At Palouse River Counseling, counselors gain meaningful, experience in community mental health, working alongside psychologists, counselors, social workers, psychiatrists, and nursing staff in a supportive and collaborative environment.
PRC offers a dynamic environment where counselors can gain hands‑on experience working with a range of clinical issues and diverse populations.
Whether new to the field or a long‑time professional, all our counselors learn amongst emerging and seasoned clinicians and receive individualized mentoring and supervision that promotes their clinical skills, theoretical orientation, professionalism, and ethics.
Placement decisions are based on agency need, but we also strive to honor individual preferences related to age group and clinical focus (e.g., individual counseling, group work, crisis intervention).
Our youth and adult teams serve clients across the lifespan—from young children (ages 3–6) to older adults. While many staff work primarily with one population, others work with both youth and adult clients.
Staff members at PRC also have opportunities—often based on interest—to facilitate DBT groups, participate in on‑call crisis work, become Designated Crisis Responders, pursue EMDR training, and more.
While not all pathways are fully available depending on experience/license level, being part of a team with diverse training and specializations offers valuable exposure for those exploring different areas of mental health practice.
At PRC, we believe in nurturing each individual’s strengths and areas of interest while also supporting growth in skills that may be new, challenging, or less familiar.
Our goal is to help our counselors deepen the skills they already enjoy using while developing confidence and competence across a range of clinical experiences.
