- responsible for contract monitoring and compliance with State and Federal contracts and related documentation.
- provides culturally appropriate and culturally sensitive technical assistance and training that disseminates the latest substance use disorder prevention science research for service providers, community-based organizations and coalitions.
- implements statewide evidence-based prevention initiatives based on comprehensive knowledge of effective policies, planning processes, program facilitation, and evaluation through a minimum of one statewide project.
- A Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to area of specialization;
Public Policy and Administration, Prevention Science, Public Health, Community Health Education, Health and Human Services, Social Sciences, Communications. - Three (3) years of experience directly related to the specialty area.
- A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience.
- Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
- Applicable professional experience in the public health/social services fields, behavioral health, substance use disorder prevention or mental health promotion and related fields; contract management, project management, managing workforce development, communications, implementing educational training programs, community engagement, technical assistance, grants management, or other comparable experience.
- Current certification as a Certified Prevention Professional in Washington State or equivalent standing as recognized by a national accreditation body, or a plan to receive the Certification within 6 months of hire.
- Three years experience in substance abuse prevention/ health education programing and/or community-based prevention strategies.
- Position requires extensive travel statewide.
- Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.
- Ability to work non-standard work hours
Demonstrates expertise in contract monitoring and compliance, along with a strong foundation in substance use disorder prevention and public health initiatives. Capable of providing culturally sensitive technical assistance and training while managing statewide projects and community engagement efforts.
