Position Details:The Opportunity: The Washington State University (WSU) Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences (VCS) in the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) seeks to fill a full-time continuous career track (clinical sub-track) Assistant or Associate Professor faculty position within the Clinical Pathology section of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH). The position is available immediately.
The successful applicant will be expected to provide diagnostic service for the VTH; clinical and didactic instruction of professional veterinary students, interns, residents, and graduate students. The opportunity to conduct research/scholarship within the candidate’s area of interest is available. The distribution of effort between clinical service, teaching, scholarly effort and academic service/outreach is negotiable. The successful applicant must be able to effectively communicate and work with people of diverse backgrounds.
The successful applicant will join one to two other full-time board-certified clinical pathologists and a dedicated team of two residents, one laboratory manager, two certified medical laboratory scientists, two laboratory assistants, and multiple, trained, DVM student employees. The well-equipped Clinical Pathology Laboratory (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). processes over 15,000 patient samples per year.
Additional Information:Annual Salary:
- Assistant Professor: $145,000 - $152,000
- Associate Professor: $160,000 - $170,000
In accordance with the salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range.

Qualifications for all ranks:- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD) degree or a related foreign equivalent degree (such as a BVSc)
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Clinical Pathology by the American College of Veterinary Pathology or the European College of Veterinary Pathology by the time of hire.
Considerations regarding faculty rank will be determined based on the interests and qualifications of the candidate meeting CVM’s promotion guidelines, as will division of effort. Candidates for Associate Professor should have evidence of progressively higher levels of experience and expertise in the provision of outstanding clinical service, clinical teaching, and/or research/scholarship.
