The OpportunityAs the School of Molecular Bioscience (SMB) Personnel and Program Coordinator you will play a key role in the day‑to‑day success of the School of Molecular Bioscience supporting approximately 219 members of a dynamic academic community. In this position you will serve as a central point of contact for graduate‑program coordination as well as personnel and payroll administration, working across disciplines including biochemistry, biophysics, genetics, microbiology, and molecular biology.
Reporting under general direction, you will work independently to manage recruitment, hiring, appointments, and payroll for research, teaching, and administrative faculty and staff, student assistantships, hourly appointments, visiting scholars, and lab volunteers—ensuring compliance with union, agency, state, and university requirements. You will also provide end‑to‑end coordination of the graduate program from funding and academic support through program progression and completion, bringing together fiscal, personnel, and administrative expertise to support students, faculty, and the broader mission of the school.

Required Qualifications- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least three (3) years of experience directly related to the specialty area. Any combination of education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year‑for‑year basis.
- Demonstrated professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency working with MS Office:
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Demonstrated experience working with personnel and payroll processes.
- Knowledge of Workday.
- Experience working in WSU systems with knowledge of WSU fiscal policies and procedures.
