Position Summary
Title: Director of the Carson Center for Student Success (1155-)
Employee Type: Administrative Professional (Full‑time, 100% FTE)
Position Term: Permanent
Location: Pullman, WA
As the Director of the Carson Center for Student Success, you will provide strategic leadership, vision, and operational oversight for a comprehensive student success center serving undergraduate business students. You will lead an integrated, holistic academic advising model, as well as career development and industry engagement efforts that support student progression, retention, and post‑graduation outcomes. You will oversee overall management and continuous improvement of the Center, participate in developing system‑wide academic and career advising services, and deliver high‑impact, student‑centered services aligned with the mission and strategic priorities of the Carson College of Business.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise academic advising, career support programs, and employer and industry relations.
- Report directly to the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
- Contribute to the College’s student success strategy and champion initiatives that enhance the student experience from recruitment through career placement.
- Participate in developing system‑wide academic and career advising services that promote student success.
- Drive continuous improvement of Center operations and student services through data analysis and strategic planning.
Salary: $8,600 – $10,700 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications (per RCW
49.58.110). This position is overtime‑exempt.

Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Six (6) years of progressively responsible relevant experience, including at least three (3) years of managerial experience.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship‑building skills across diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience managing professional staff, including supervision of managers or team leads.
- Experience developing and implementing student success initiatives that improve retention, progression, and career outcomes.
- Understanding of academic advising models, student development theory, and career readiness framework.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and use data to inform strategy, assess outcomes, and drive continuous improvement.
- Master of Arts, Master of Science, or MBA degree in a related field.
- Familiarity with other business schools and experience with similar structured academic units.
- Experience overseeing academic and career functions.
- Knowledge of student information systems, advising platforms, or career management tools.
This position requires a background check in accordance with RCW
74.34. A background check will be conducted only after an initial determination of qualification for employment.
