Position TitlePublic Relations/Communications Manager (VCEA Marketing and Communications Director)
OverviewThe Marketing and Communications Director provides strategic leadership for the Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture’s marketing and communications efforts. The Director leads the College’s marketing and communications team in planning, developing, and implementing integrated branding, marketing, and communications strategies that deliver clear, consistent, and impactful messaging to internal and external audiences. The role collaborates closely with College leadership to develop and execute communications plans that educate, inform, and engage students, faculty, staff, alumni, industry partners, donors, and other stakeholders.
The Director is responsible for overseeing the creation of compelling content across multiple platforms, evaluating the effectiveness of marketing, public relations, and social media initiatives through data and analytics, and continuously refining strategies to maximize reach and impact. In partnership with administrators, faculty, staff, students, professional organizations, community and business leaders, and Washington State University Communications, the Director advances the College’s reputation, strengthens its brand, and supports its strategic priorities through innovative and effective marketing and communications programs.
- Lead the marketing and communications team in planning, developing, and implementing integrated branding and communication strategies.
- Develop and execute communications plans in collaboration with College leadership and external stakeholders.
- Oversee creation of content across multiple platforms, ensuring clarity and consistency.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of marketing, public relations, and social media initiatives through data and analytics.
- Continuously refine strategies to maximize reach and impact.
- Partner with administrators, faculty, staff, students, and external partners to promote the College’s reputation and strategic priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field.
- Four (4) years of professional experience in print or broadcast media, public relations, or a related area.
- At least one (1) year of supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated experience making presentations.
- Experience with graphic design.
- Experience with social media marketing.
- Experience with analytics, including interpretation and presentation.
- Experience overseeing the design and production of print materials and publications.
- Excellent multitasking abilities and oral and written communication skills.
- Proven abilities in effective marketing and advertising strategies.
- Experience working with a variety of different populations.

SalaryThe starting salary range is $6,012.09 - $9,400, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
