Position Summary
The Director of Evangelization & Outreach is a missionary leader called to partner with the Holy Spirit in bringing revival, encounter, and transformation to the campus at Washington State University. This role ignites a culture of Scripture-centered evangelization, charismatic encounter with Jesus Christ, and radical discipleship that invites students out of spiritual indifference into thriving encounter and community.
You will build relational, joy-filled pathways for students, especially those unconnected to the Church, to experience the adventure of faith, encounter the living God, and be formed as missionary disciples who carry the fire of the New Evangelization back into their relationships, Greek life, classrooms, and beyond.
- Lead and coordinate charismatic, Holy Spirit-dependent outreach initiatives, especially semester Kickoff Week, that sparks curiosity, conversion, and commitment
- Maintain a vibrant, welcoming, Scripture-inspired tabling presence on campus that invites students into meaningful conversations about Jesus
- Train, release, and empower students in relational evangelization grounded in the Gospel and dependent on the Holy Spirit
- Develop creative evangelistic strategies that reflect campus culture while pointing to the beauty of discipleship
- Personally engage students with warmth, truth, and invitation into their first encounters with Christ
- Inspire and equip students to embrace a lifestyle of mission, not merely attendance
- Cultivate authentic relationships within fraternities and sororities that open doors for discipleship and Gospel witness
- Build a bold missionary presence within Greek life that invites students into the adventure of following Jesus
- Raise up and mentor student leaders within Greek life who carry contagious joy in Scripture, prayer, and mission
- Facilitate small groups and faith conversations that help students wrestle with faith and take ownership of their discipleship
- Oversee Damascus Night as a primary evangelistic “Win Event”, a weekly opportunity for powerful encounter and Gospel clarity
- Ensure every Damascus Night reflects dynamic engagement with Scripture, authentic worship, and openness to the Holy Spirit’s movement
- Collaborate on compelling themes, creative testimonies, and life-giving encounters that resonate with students from all backgrounds
- Empower students to lead with confidence and spiritual boldness
- Make every entry point accessible, relational, joyful, and transformational
- Lead planning of the Fall Retreat as a major encounter moment with Jesus
- Build clear, relational follow-up pathways into discipleship groups, leadership formation, sacramental life, and long-term mission
- Build intentional bridges from initial encounter into deep discipleship rooted in Scripture and the sacraments
- Align outreach with systems that guide students toward growth, spiritual maturity, and formation as missionary disciples
- Inspire students to take next steps, from outreach events to small groups, spiritual mentoring, and leadership roles
- Train students to carry the mission forward, creating ongoing cycles of evangelization and disciple-making
- Partner closely with the Director of Student Leadership & OCIA to welcome and form students into deeper discipleship
- Coordinate worship elements with the Director of Worship to create environments of encounter
- Participate in weekly staff prayer, listening for the Holy Spirit’s leading in mission and ministry
- Contribute energetically to staff meetings, student tracking, and shared strategy with a focus on kingdom impact
- Practicing Catholic in full communion with the Church
- College degree & minimal experience of 3 years leading
- Deep devotion to Jesus Christ, Sacred Scripture, the Sacramental life, and the Holy Spirit
- Strong commitment to Catholic teaching and missionary discipleship
- Experience in campus ministry, charismatic environments, or evangelistic outreach preferred
- An understanding how Social Media plays an understanding into social outreach
- FOCUS, SPO, missionary formation, or similar background highly desirable
- Confidence in relational evangelization and comfort with charismatic prayer in full fidelity to Church teaching
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- A joyful, courageous, and Spirit-led presence that invites others into relationship with Christ
