Position Overview

The registered nurse is a clinical practitioner who implements and coordinates patient care specific to the patient population served. Ensures that quality care is provided in an effective and safe manner consistent with the hospital’s policies and procedures and within the scope of the practice established by the State of Washington. Demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Pullman Regional Hospital, the relationship‑based care guiding principles, the philosophy of care, goals of the unit and organization, and demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice.

The Critical Care RN will be expected to provide nursing team support in Code response and assistance in critical situations hospital wide. Critical Care RN’s may cross train and float to additional departments in order to remain productive, yet available in‑house for emergencies, when the unit volumes do not necessitate the need for full staffing. Critical care patient volumes in this community do not support a fully staffed critical care area at all times, so in order to maintain highly trained RN staff in the hospital around the clock, critical care staff and beds will be utilized to provide overflow support for all patient levels of care.

Staffing assignments will be adjusted accordingly, as patient care intensity changes.
