ARS Office/Lab and LocationLocated in Pullman, Washington. The Agricultural Research Service (ARS) is the USDA's chief scientific in‑house research agency.
Research ProjectThe participant will engage in the USDA Theileria project, developing novel diagnostics, drug treatments, and vaccines for controlling Theileria orientalis in cattle and Theileria equi and Theileria haneyi in horses. The project is conducted at the Animal Disease Research Unit (ADRU), ARS–USDA, in Pullman, WA. Responsibilities include participating in and analyzing research experiments, collaborating with ADRU–USDA scientists and Washington State University (WSU) faculty, and engaging in academic activities within the WSU College of Veterinary Medicine such as seminar presentations and thesis/dissertation defenses.

Participant StipendMonthly stipend commensurate with educational level and experience; anticipated range is $75,068 annually.

QualificationsThe qualified candidate should be currently pursuing or have received a doctoral degree in one of the relevant fields. The degree must have been received within the past four years or be anticipated to be received by the appointment start date.
Preferred Skills- Knowledge of immunology, infectious diseases, diagnostic and vaccine development, RNA‑seq analysis, and statistics.
