Classified, full‑time (100% FTE), permanent position. Overtime eligible.

Under the general supervision of the Executive Chef and Sous Chef, you will prepare menu items for daily service, special events, and catering within the WSU Athletics Performance Nutrition Program. You will create high‑quality, performance‑focused meals that support student‑athletes and collaborate with leadership to develop innovative and seasonal menu offerings.

You will manage inventory effectively, maintain stock levels, plan production, balance peak batch cooking with off‑peak La Carte prep, and uphold food safety, cleanliness, and equipment usage standards. Your responsibilities include accurate record‑keeping, overseeing the production area, and delivering exceptional customer service in every dining experience.

• Two (2) years cooking experience in large‑scale food service or culinary operation, including six (6) months directing others; or equivalent education/experience.
• Possession of a Washington state Food Handler’s Permit within 14 days of employment.
• Ability to work some evenings and weekends as needed.

• Two to five years of progressively responsible food service experience.
• Experience with La Carte restaurant cooking and diverse international/ethnic cuisines.
• Serve Safe Certified.
• Broad culinary experience and ability to lead and train staff.
• Knowledge of commercial grade kitchen equipment, safety, and maintenance.
