Senior Generator Set Mechanic​/Supervisor

The role is based at Pullman Maldives Maamutaa, located in the Gaafu Alifu Atoll, Maldives.

• Oversee the operation, maintenance, and reliability of diesel generators across two resort properties
• Perform and supervise major engine overhauls in line with OEM standards
• Ensure uninterrupted 24/7 power plant operations
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programmes
• Diagnose and troubleshoot diesel engine faults and system issues
• Optimise generator performance, load management, and fuel efficiency
• Train, mentor, and supervise engineering staff and technicians
• Maintain maintenance records, reports, and operational logs
• Coordinate and supervise external contractors when required
• Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and standards (LOTO, PTW, PPE)

• Diploma or certification in Mechanical, Marine, or Diesel Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in genset maintenance and overhaul
• Proven experience managing multi‑unit or multi‑site operations
• Strong expertise in 20,000‑hour major overhauls
• Experience with Cummins, CAT, MTU, or Perkins engines is preferred
• Mandatory hands‑on skills:
  • Ability to read and interpret parts books, workshop manuals, and technical drawings
  • Perform overhaul works strictly following factory/OEM standards and tolerances
  • Skilled in taking precise measurements using tools such as micrometres, dial gauges, and torque wrenches
• Additional requirement:
  • Experience with boat engines (e.g., Yamaha)
  • Experience with generator systems using Volvo engines
• Understanding of RO plant system is a plus advantage
• Strong leadership and staff training capability
• Ability to work in a remote or island‑based environment
