Reaney Pool is hiring a Seasonal Pool Manager to oversee daily operations, staff supervision, and aquatic programming throughout the summer season. This hands‑on leadership role is ideal for an experienced aquatics professional who enjoys mentoring staff, engaging with the community, and creating a positive experience for swimmers of all ages.

CLASSIFICATION

SUMMARY

Reaney Pool Manager position is responsible for the supervision of the aquatics facility including water exercise fitness, special programs, open swim, swim lessons, and private lessons. Work is performed under the general direction of the Recreation Manager who will review work performance, hold staff meetings and informal discussions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES
  • Assumes responsibilities and of administrative duties
  • Have knowledge of Civic Rec/registration software and administrative work related to memberships, customer service, daily reports and deposits.
  • Have knowledge of When To Work  scheduling program for staff and shift scheduling.
  • Assist in hiring, orientation and evaluation of employees.
  • Responsible for the safety of participants and staff in facility.
  • Performs paper work, scheduling, shift coverage and discipline issues.
  • Attends and contributes information to management meetings.
  • Responsible for facility operation as needed includes staff training, cleaning, safety, customer service, and supervision). Be effective at pro‑active management and reactive as necessary.
  • Assigns staff to meet patron load. Secures additional staff as necessary.
  • Provides leadership by example and attempts to resolve staff and patron conflict.
  • Communicates policy and procedures and any operational and program changes to staff, supervisor and appropriate city personnel.
  • Schedules instructors for programs.
MAINTENANCE
  • Initiate work delegated by Recreation Manager regarding operations and maintenance.
  • Supervision of daily maintenance for the facility.
  • Check and verify routine maintenance is completed on a daily basis.
  • Perform basic maintenance around the Reaney Pool facility.
  • Assigns maintenance for staff, in addition to daily responsibilities.
  • Solve all maintenance issues internally or out‑source as necessary to qualified, appointed personnel.
SWIM LESSON PROGRAMS AND INSTRUCTION
  • Teach, educate, and operate classes to better meet the needs of the facilities’ swim instruction program.
  • Contribute knowledge, experience, and quality work ethic to all swim lesson instruction.
  • Enforce rules of facility as a leader and a follower.
  • Assist in orientation and evaluation of employees for instruction.
  • Accommodate customer’s interests and needs with swim program.
WATER EXERCISE
  • Responsible for training and instruction of WEX program.
  • Check WEX equipment regularly for proper working condition.
  • Educate staff and patrons on WEX program and classes available.
  • Substitute or facilitate instruction of class when difficulties arise.
LIFFEGUARD
  • Work as Lifeguard as necessary.
  • Flexibility to cover unassigned shifts as necessary.
  • Attends work on a regular and dependable basis; flexibility to cover shifts that are unassigned at the facility.
  • Interacts in a professional and respectful manner with city staff and the public.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Perform other tasks as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in an aquatics management position or a related position in a public or private recreation program involving the planning and scheduling of aquatic activities.
  • Current ARC Lifeguard Certification (equivalent certifications accepted or obtained within 3 months of hire)
  • Current ARC CPR:

    PR Certification (equivalent certifications accepted or obtained within 3 months of hire)
  • Current ARC BSI (Basic Swim Instructor) Certification (equivalent certifications accepted or obtained within 3 months of hire)
  • Current ARC WSI Certification (equivalent certifications accepted or obtained within 3 months of hire)
  • Demonstrate competency in written and oral communication
