Assembly/Repair Technician
The Repair Technician is responsible for inspecting, refurbishing, testing, and repackaging evacuation and safety equipment from both company and third-party manufacturers. This role involves performing minor repairs, preparing products for inspection, following established packing procedures, and maintaining accurate documentation throughout the repair process.
Key Responsibilities- Clean and organize workstations, tools, and components before and after repair activities.
- Verify and inventory parts and materials required for repairs and assembly.
- Assemble equipment and components according to established specifications and work instructions.
- Examine products for damage, defects, or wear and perform approved corrective repairs when necessary.
- Conduct functional checks and inspections to ensure equipment meets quality and safety standards.
- Fold, package, and prepare evacuation equipment in accordance with company procedures and certification requirements.
- Complete production records, inspection forms, and process documentation accurately and on time.
- Maintain compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and operational goals.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent vocational/technical training.
- Ability to wear and properly use respiratory protection equipment.
- Must be able to pass a DOT-required drug screening and participate in a random testing program in accordance with FAA/DOT regulations.
- Basic verbal and written communication skills.
- Fundamental computer proficiency for data entry and documentation purposes.
- Ability to perform accurate measurements using standard measuring tools.
- Understanding of tolerances and quality requirements within manufacturing or repair environments.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, work instructions, diagrams, blueprints, and manuals written in English.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Willingness and ability to complete company-required training and obtain applicable packing certifications.
- Work is performed primarily on the production floor in a moderately noisy environment where safety glasses and other required PPE must be worn.
- Regular exposure to adhesives, solvents, and related vapors during daily operations.
- Approximately 50% of the workday involves standing.
- Approximately 25% of the workday involves kneeling and using hooks, pulling devices, and other specialized packing tools.
- Must demonstrate good balance, coordination, and the ability to work safely alongside other team members.
- Ability to lift, pull, carry, and move materials weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Must be able to wear steel-toe footwear, knee pads, respiratory protection, and other required safety equipment.
- Previous experience in equipment repair, assembly, manufacturing, aerospace, industrial production, or a related technical field.
- Experience working with quality inspection procedures and detailed work instructions.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and production documentation practices.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lake Suzy, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.50 - $20.00/hr.
