Position Summary

The ReSale Store Manager is responsible for the daily operations and overall performance of an assigned ReSale location. This role leads store staff and volunteers in delivering an exceptional customer and donor experience while supporting Habitat for Humanity’s mission through revenue generation, community engagement, and environmental sustainability.

The Store Manager oversees retail operations including merchandising, inventory flow, staff supervision, donor relations, and operational compliance. This position requires a hands‑on leader who can effectively balance customer service, operational efficiency, and team development in a fast‑paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities Store Operations & Customer Experience
  • Oversee the daily operations of the ReSale store, ensuring high standards in customer service, merchandising, cleanliness, and safety.
  • Ensure the store is organized, well‑stocked, and visually appealing to customers and donors.
  • Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to meet or exceed revenue goals.
  • Ensure merchandise is appropriately priced, displayed, and rotated to maximize sales and inventory flow.
  • Drive in‑store brand loyalty by training employees to actively pitch the store’s rewards program.
  • Address customer concerns and donor inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Maintain compliance with organizational policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
  • Oversee cash handling procedures, point‑of‑sale operations, and daily reconciliation processes.
  • Ensure opening and closing procedures are consistently followed.
Team Leadership & Staff Development
  • Supervise, train, and support store staff and volunteers.
  • Foster a positive, mission‑driven, and customer‑focused work environment.
  • Create staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and operational efficiency.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance management.
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and retention of staff and volunteers.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and strong communication among team members.
Donations & Inventory Management
  • Oversee donation intake processes to ensure efficiency, donor satisfaction, and quality control.
  • Monitor inventory levels and merchandise flow to maintain a balanced and profitable sales floor.
  • Coordinate with ReSale Donation Team regarding donation pickups, deliveries, and inventory movement.
  • Ensure donated merchandise is processed, priced, and displayed in a timely manner.
  • Support strategies to increase donation volume and quality.
Community Engagement & Mission Support
  • Serve as a positive ambassador for ReSale and Habitat for Humanity within the community.
  • Support outreach efforts, promotions, and store events designed to increase awareness and engagement.
  • Help communicate the mission impact of ReSale operations to customers, donors, and volunteers.
  • Maintain positive relationships with donors, customers, and community partners.
Facilities & Safety
  • Ensure the store, warehouse, and surrounding areas are maintained in a safe, clean, and organized condition.
  • Identify maintenance and repair needs and communicate concerns appropriately.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and promote a culture of workplace safety.
  • Assist with loss prevention and asset protection efforts.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in retail management or supervisory experience required.
  • Strong leadership and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced retail environment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Experience supervising staff and/or volunteers preferred.
  • Basic financial and cash‑handling experience required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and point‑of‑sale systems preferred.
  • Ability to lift and move merchandise as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred.
