HEAVY Equipment​/Yellow IRON Mechanic ; SLD Landfill Punta Gorda FL

Position: NOW HIRING HEAVY EQUIPMENT/YELLOW IRON MECHANIC ASAP (SLD Landfill Punta Gorda FL)
We are looking for a Heavy Equipment/Yellow Iron Mechanic to join the team at our SLD Team location in Punta Gorda, FL.

5:30am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday and Saturday as needed.

$30.00 plus an hour DOE

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Performs repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services.

* Performs inspections, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.

* Several pieces of yellow iron currently on site. (Compactors, Dozers, Excavators, Motor grader, Water truck and Articulated Dump Truck)

* Ability to efficiently operate bulldozers, wheel loaders, motor grader. Compactor experience preferred but not required.

* Must have computer skills.

* Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

* Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.

* Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.

* Ability to operate heavy equipment is desired.

* Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance.

MINIMUM

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

* High school diploma or equivalent.

* Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate service and technical information.

* Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified (both diesel and yellow iron experience).

* CDL is preferred but not required at time of hire.
