- Ability to perform work requiring physical strength and endurance
- Ability to withstand exposure to variable weather conditions
- Ability to work at heights from a ladder, scaffolding, or mechanical lift
- Mastery of journeyman level skill in the use of the tools, materials and equipment of the low voltage trade
- Knowledge of the Security Systems, Fire Panels & Video Management Systems
- Three (3) years or more of progressive experience in the trade.
- Ability to plan and organize detail of assignments, read and understand blueprints, diagrams, and manuals
- Ability to troubleshoot, determine causes of routine malfunctions, and take necessary corrective measures
- Completion of a technical program related to the trade at a vocational school, college, military training program or completion of an apprenticeship program
- Holds a valid Florida driver’s license
- BICSI Cabling & Fiber Certification to be obtained within the first year of employment
- FASA/BASA to be obtained within the first two (2) years of employment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) years of experience in the public-school environment
- FASA/BASA Certification
