Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our growing construction company. This role is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, and ensuring accurate financial reporting for multiple construction entities. The ideal candidate will have strong construction accounting knowledge, experience with job cost reporting, and the ability to manage and mentor accounting staff in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day‑to‑day accounting operations and month‑end close for the company
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of all transactions
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Prepare monthly expense accruals and review account reconciliations
  • Oversee job cost accounting and maintain project cost tracking within Foundation
  • Manage and update royalty reporting to technology lessor
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, including the Staff Accountant and Accounting Assistant
  • Coordinate with Project Managers and Operations teams to ensure accurate project financial reporting
  • Assist with annual audits, tax preparation support, and compliance reporting
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • 7+ years of accounting experience, preferably within the construction industry
  • Strong understanding of:
  • General ledger
  • Job costing
  • Percentage‑of‑completion accounting
  • WIP reporting
  • Experience supervising accounting staff
  • Knowledge of audit preparation and external auditor coordination
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
