Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support a client engagement at a PE backed company in Northern Virginia. This long-term contract opportunity is ideal for someone in finance with a strong background in accounts receivable, close activities, and balance sheet accuracy. The role will contribute to day-to-day accounting operations while helping maintain timely reporting and dependable financial records.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee accounts receivable activities, including reviewing customer balances, monitoring collections, and helping ensure cash application is recorded accurately.
• Prepare and post journal entries to maintain an accurate general ledger and support the integrity of monthly financial results.
• Lead key month-end close tasks by organizing schedules, reviewing account activity, and resolving discrepancies within required timelines.
• Perform detailed account reconciliations to verify balances, investigate variances, and support clean financial reporting.
• Reconcile bank activity regularly, ensuring transactions are properly recorded and outstanding items are addressed promptly.
• Support ongoing accounting projects and process-related work within Sage Intacct as needed for the client environment.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to gather financial information, clarify transactions, and improve the reliability of accounting data.
