This is a full-time, on-site/hybrid role based in Leesburg, VA, for a Senior Engineer, Engineer, or Landscape Architect. The role involves performing professional-level work under the general direction of the Senior Project Manager and the Town’s Chief Engineer.
Additional guidance is provided by Senior Engineers and through codified ordinances, subdivision regulations, construction/material specification and building, engineering, and construction regulations. Responsibilities include reviewing and preparing solution oriented comments on site plans and construction drawings to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements. The position requires active participation in meetings and regular communication and collaboration with both internal town staff and external consultants, developers, and/or contractors.
- Graduated from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in civil engineering or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 2 years experience in civil engineering or landscape architecture including all aspects of land development designs and/or review of site plans and construction drawings.
- Experience applying local, state, and federal regulations to site plans and construction plans designs or reviews.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
- Experience reviewing or preparing Landscape plans and Tree Management Reports
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineering-In-Training (EIT) Certificate, Liscensed Surveyor or Registered Landscape Architect
- Engineers and Surveyors Institute (ESI) Designated Plan Reviewer (DPE) Certification
