ICOP’s office is located at 413 Browning Court in Purcellville, VA. We own and maintain heavy equipment in a shop located at this address. We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Shop/Yard Assistant to support daily operations within our deep foundation and ground improvement construction yard and shop. This position plays a key role in maintaining an organized, safe, and efficient work environment while assisting shop personnel, welders, and the Shop/Yard Coordinator with general yard and equipment support activities.
Responsibilities- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop and yard areas
- Assist with loading, unloading, and staging materials and equipment
- Support welders and shop personnel with basic labor tasks
- Operate forklifts and other small equipment as needed (if qualified)
- Organize tools, supplies, and inventory
- Assist with equipment preparation, cleaning, and maintenance
- Help monitor and maintain safe working conditions throughout the facility
- Assist with deliveries, material movement, and inventory tracking
- Follow company safety policies and procedures at all times
- Support the Shop/Yard Coordinator with daily operational needs
- Prior construction yard, shop, or labor experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
- Forklift experience or certification is a plus
- Welding or mechanical experience is a plus, but not required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Combination of indoor shop and outdoor yard work
- Exposure to construction equipment, welding activities, and varying weather conditions
- Fast-paced construction support environment
