Footwear Designer​/Product Development - Gianni Bini Brand

We are seeking an experienced Designer / Product Development professional to join the Gianni Bini footwear team.

This role is ideal for someone who combines a strong design eye with hands‑on product development experience and understands how to take footwear from initial concept through development, confirmation and production. The position will work closely with our Design Director, Production team and overseas offices, with significant involvement in both the creative and technical execution of the product.

• Design and develop footwear concepts in alignment with the Gianni Bini brand aesthetic and seasonal direction
• Create sketches, CADs, technical diagrams and other design communication needed throughout the development process
• Prepare and manage detailed proto specs, confirmation specs and lot specs
• Review prototypes and samples, providing clear and accurate corrections to overseas development and production teams
• Take a strong hands‑on role in the confirmation process
  , ensuring construction, fit, materials, colors and design details are accurately executed prior to production
• Partner closely with the Production team throughout development and production, including costing, product execution, troubleshooting and customer communication
• Work closely with the Creative Director and overseas offices on material development
  , including colors, textures, finishes and material execution
• Ensure approved materials and colors transition accurately from seasonal development into production
• Communicate detailed product corrections through sketches, diagrams, CADs and written specifications
• Track multiple styles and development stages simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and deadlines
• Collaborate across Design, Product Development, Production and Sales to ensure product meets both creative and commercial objectives
• Participate in domestic and international travel as required for development, market and production needs

• 5 to 7 years of relevant footwear design and/or product development experience
• Strong footwear design sensibility with a solid understanding of construction and manufacturing
• Significant experience creating and managing technical product specifications
• Strong understanding of proto, confirmation and production development processes
• Experience working directly with overseas factories, vendors or development offices
• Strong material and color development skills
• Ability to identify product issues and communicate clear, actionable corrections
• CAD and technical drawing capabilities
• Candidates should be comfortable creating and modifying CADs independently and not rely solely on AI-generated design tools
• Strong Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills
• Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across creative, production and overseas teams
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Base Salary: $75,000 to $95,000
