Job DescriptionManhattanville University is seeking adjunct instructors to teach courses in the Masters of Sport Business Management program. We are looking for Summer 2026 (Summer 1 runs 5/26/26 through 6/26/26; Summer 2 runs 7/6/26 through 8/7/26) and Fall 2026 (8/31/26 through 12/18/26). If the Summer/Fall semester is successful, there will be the possibility of future employment. We are looking for both online and in‑person courses.
ANote About Online Teaching
Faculty members new to online teaching at Manhattanville will be required to complete the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Scholarship's online asynchronous professional development course,
Fundamentals of Online Teaching
. The course supports faculty in designing and teaching courses according to established best practices as determined by research, such as:
- The differences among online course formats (synchronous, asynchronous, hybrid)
- Backward design and the flipped classroom
- Creating student engagement through communication, discussions, and other forms of social presence
- Building courses in the University’s learning management system, Brightspace
To develop online courses, faculty may work with the CTLS Office of Instructional Technology. An Instructional Technologist or Peer Mentor from the Office can advise on the instructional design of the course and ensure that it meets the research‑based criteria in the Online Course Rubric - Principles of Online Teaching.xlsx.
Course DescriptionCourses in the Sport Business Management program cover the standards areas such as strategy, finance, legal/ethical and marketing. For a full‑list of courses and descriptions, see the MSBM course list in the Graduate Catalog.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNone.
Duties/Responsibilities- Prepare and teach well‑organized classes and present other learning opportunities for students in accordance with student learning outcomes for the course.
- Create and share syllabus/syllabi with students and Dean’s Office. This must be posted on the University’s Learning Management Software (LMS), Brightspace.
- Post assignment grades in Brightspace for students to track their academic progress.
- Hold two hours of Office Hours for students. (This can be a mix of in‑person and online)
- Use Manhattanville email for correspondence with students, faculty and staff; respond to email in a timely fashion.
- Submit Roster Reconciliations, Mid‑Term and Final Grades by appropriate deadlines. File Retention Alerts when student concerns arise.

General Faculty Duties and Academic Opportunities. - Be familiar with the University Catalog and Faculty Handbook.
- Subject matter expertise
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with Brightspace or similar LMS.
Education: Master’s degree in a business‑related field, or a J.D. if applying to teach a legal course. Ph.D. preferred.
Experience: Previous teaching experience.
Physical Requirements: None.
Salary: $3,375 – $3,675 per semester
Hours ExpectationTeaching time: 2.5 hours/week
Office hours: 2 hours/week
HousingHousing is not provided.
