Job DescriptionThe Clinical Instructor of Early Childhood and Childhood Education will teach courses in the School of Education at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including courses taught on campus, online, and/or hybrid formats. Primary teaching responsibilities will be in the areas of early childhood and childhood education. Applicants must be comfortable teaching courses at different degree levels in multiple modalities. Duties include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and assisting the Office of Teacher Placements and Certification in the identification and vetting of clinical placement sites.

Duties/Responsibilities Teaching- Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in early childhood and childhood education.
- Teach general education courses such as Foundations, Curriculum and Assessment, or Student Teaching seminar as needed.
- Teach 30 credits annually of undergraduate and/or graduate courses in a variety of formats: in-person, hybrid, and online. Reassigned time is available for administrative tasks.
- Attend department, school, and university meetings and participate in activities and events designed for student recruitment, retention and graduation.
- Participate in accreditation review processes as well as curriculum and program development.
- Participate in service to the department, college, university, and broader community.
- Engage in various professional development activities and initiatives that contribute to the continuous improvement of one's teaching, service, and scholarship.
- Strong knowledge of early childhood and childhood education
- Expertise in curriculum development.
- Knowledge of national and state curricular standards and assessments.
- Evidence of effective college level teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level, preferably in multiple modalities.
- Proficient use of learning management systems and technological tools to facilitate teaching and learning.
- Evidence of active participation in professional organizations and a commitment to educating diverse learners.
Education:
Master's Degree in Early Childhood and/or Childhood Education, or in a related field.
- Experience in PreK-6 teaching.
- Experience in early childhood or childhood teacher preparation, such as teaching instructional methods courses for teacher candidates and coordinating field teaching practica.
- Experience in data analysis and in data-driven course instruction and educational innovation.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Hours ExpectationFull-time, 35 hours per week.
