Principles of Biology Lecture. The course is described as the following:

1001:
The first part of a two-semester lecture sequence, this course stresses the major biological principles and concepts that serve as the foundation for study in the biological and health-related fields. The first semester includes topics such as the chemistry of biological systems, cell and historical organization, membrane transport, and metabolism/cellular respiration. The BIO.
1001‑1002 sequence is strongly recommended; however, students may take BIO.
1002 before BIO.
1001.
The courses will be run fully in person.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNone
Duties/Responsibilities- Teach the course BIO
1001. Lecture includes 2 lectures per week (1 hour and 20 minutes/ lecture session). - Days and times of available lectures are TBD with chair and hire.
- Use Brightspace as a digital learning platform for course materials and grading.
- Hold 3 office hours per week.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education:
M.S., Ph.D., M.D., D.O., post‑docs, or experienced academicians with a strong background in a related discipline (e.g.—biology)
Experience:
Experience with teaching undergraduates preferred
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking around a classroom
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
The salary for this position is dependent upon the adjunct union contract.
Hours Expectation- 2 lectures per week (1 hour and 20 minutes/ lecture session), as well as 3 office hours per week.
