The Assistant Medical Director, Women’s Health serves as the clinical operations leader for the Women’s Health division. This advanced practice provider (PA or NP) provides comprehensive patient care while overseeing day-to-day clinical operations, supervising the clinical support team, and ensuring execution of departmental standards across locations.
Reporting directly to the Associate Medical Director, this role functions as the operational and clinical lead for workflow management, team accountability, and implementation of clinical protocols — similar in structure to the leadership model within the Men’s Health division.
Core Clinical Responsibilities Patient Assessment & Diagnosis- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical history, physical examinations, and review of diagnostic testing.
- Diagnose and treat sexual medicine and gynecologic conditions including vaginismus, vulvodynia, low desire, hormonal dysfunction, and genitourinary syndrome of menopause.
- Identify and manage broader medical conditions impacting women’s health.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the Associate Medical Director.
- Prescribe medications, order diagnostic testing, and recommend lifestyle modifications.
- Ensure adherence to Maze clinical standards and evidence-based care.
- Independently perform procedures such as:
- O-Shot treatments
- Therapeutic injections and immunizations
- Suturing and minor wound management
- Maintain high procedural quality, safety, and sterile technique.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as appropriate.
- Review lab results and communicate findings.
- Ensure strong continuity of care and patient experience.
- Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely EMR documentation.
- Maintain triage and patient task tracking systems.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and professional practice regulations.
- Provide direct oversight of Women’s Health clinicians.
- Deliver coaching, training, and real-time clinical guidance.
- Partner with the Associate Medical Director and HR on performance development and accountability.
- Support staffing coverage and daily workflow management.
- Oversee daily clinical flow in both NYC and Westchester offices.
- Troubleshoot operational inefficiencies.
- Ensure exam rooms, procedure equipment, and medications are properly stocked and maintained.
- Maintain high standards of patient experience.
- Train new clinicians in Women’s Health protocols.
- Assist the Associate Medical Director and CHRO in developing and refining training materials.
- Serve as a clinical mentor and resource to team members.
- Monitor documentation quality and clinical consistency.
- Identify workflow improvement opportunities.
- Support implementation of new services and protocols.
- Ensure alignment with the Associate Medical Director’s clinical vision.
- Assist in drafting and updating patient education materials and consent forms under supervision.
- Provide input into departmental growth and service expansion.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with administrative leadership to align clinical and operational goals.
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant
or
Nurse Practitioner program. - Current NY State licensure as a PA or NP.
- Significant experience in gynecology, sexual medicine, hormone therapy, or related specialty.
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong procedural competency.
- High emotional intelligence and strong team leadership skills.
