Digital Media / Production, UI/UX Design, Product Designer
Wealth Management Platforms, Purchase, New York.
We are seeking an Associate UX Designer to join our Wealth Management Client UX team that supports self‑directed and FA managed clients. In this role you will help design data‑rich experiences that give clients a clear picture of their portfolios and account data, and design analytics tools to give users a deeper understanding of their finances. You will contribute across the end‑to‑end product design lifecycle, partnering closely with UX leads, researchers, product owners, and engineers.
This is a hands‑on role responsible for user journeys, screen flows, wireframes, prototypes and high‑fidelity designs. The role requires working in‑office a minimum of four days a week to support teamwork and collaboration.
- Partner with the UX lead and cross‑functional teams to deliver experiences that balance user needs, business objectives, and platform constraints.
- Translate complex business rules, edge cases, and user scenarios into simple screen flows and intuitive interface designs.
- Create and iterate on design artifacts including journey maps, task flows, wireframes, high‑fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes.
- Design within an established ecosystem by leveraging existing interaction patterns and design system components to maintain consistency across products.
- Work closely with our research team to identify user pain points and ideate ways to improve the product experience.
- Deliver responsive/adaptive designs optimized for web and mobile, and collaborate with engineering to support accurate implementation (including specs and design QA).
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail—creating a strong visual hierarchy with typography and layout, as well as considering error handling and empty states.
- Advocate for inclusive design by aligning work to accessibility expectations (e.g., WCAG/ADA) and supporting usability for a wide range of user abilities.
- Use company‑approved AI tools to concept, iterate, and quickly prototype workflows.
- Ask thoughtful questions, seek feedback, and continuously grow design craft and product understanding.
- Articulate the rationale behind your design decisions.
- Champion design system thinking across multiple tabs and products over isolated page‑level interactions.
- Collaborate with UX designers on other teams to share ideas, provide feedback, and align on common patterns.
- You have an outstanding portfolio that demonstrates how you have created experiences that solved business and user needs.
- You’ve spent 2‑5 years as a UX designer and were a key contributor to the success of products that have launched.
- You hold a bachelor’s degree in design or a related field; a master’s degree is a plus.
- You have excellent Figma skills.
- You thrive in a collaborative, explorative environment and value being on a diverse team to brainstorm and get feedback from within a large organization.
- You practice active listening and contribute in in‑group situations, such as brainstorms, audits, critiques, and whiteboard sessions.
- You get excited by complex projects and can navigate a path forward when there is ambiguity.
- You ask questions to clarify your understanding of the business rules, use cases, and end users.
Expected base pay for this role is between $58,000 and $115,000 per year total compensation package may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, and other short‑ and long‑term incentive programs.
