Manager, Product Architect, Solution Engineering

The goal of the Solution Engineering team is to partner with key stakeholders in the digital space including device manufacturers, operating system providers, and wallet services to execute Mastercard’s digital strategy while identifying new business development and revenue‑generating opportunities.
We aim to define new payment experiences through direct engagement with partners and offering solutions leveraging Mastercard’s assets such as digital, loyalty, advisors, security, acceptance, and processing solutions.
The Role- Manage technical engagement with high‑profile global strategic clients to design solutions that leverage Mastercard’s product suites and assets.
- Partner with clients to articulate their business and technical requirements – proficient in systems, testing, implementation, documentation, maintenance, and support.
- Define Solution Strategy: partner with Mastercard’s flagship product business owners to define and evolve the strategy from concept to market.
- Help define Mastercard technology roadmap/strategy for each digital partner.
- Design solutions and communicate them through clear documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, and charts.
- Determine and advance operational feasibility through problem definition and project scope.
- Work closely with Products, Services and Operations/Technology groups at Mastercard and partners to facilitate technical integration; collaborate with software developers, processing and architecture engineers, and product managers.
- Support prototyping group to create prototypes and assist with sales and implementation.
- Collaborate with regional and local project teams to provide project scope and requirements.
- File for intellectual property when new or unique solutions are created.
- Comply with rules of engagement, including business models, data strategy, and ensure Mastercard’s interests are protected.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical or business discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong background in payments, including product development, processing, or merchant operations.
- Familiarity with digital payment platforms and core enterprise systems is beneficial.
- Understanding of web and mobile technologies, and experience contributing to software design or implementation.
- Proven ability to collaborate with developers and technical architects in building system solutions.
- Skills in gathering and documenting requirements while balancing short‑term business needs with long‑term architectural goals.
- Self‑motivated with excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and a history of successful project delivery in team environments.
- Effective communicator, capable of explaining technical topics to non‑technical audiences.
- Strong project‑management capabilities, able to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external partners across global teams.
- Demonstrated research and analytical abilities, including interpreting complex information and providing sound recommendations.
- Abide by Mastercard’s security policies and practices.
- Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of information being accessed.
- Report any suspected information security violation or breach.
- Complete all mandatory security trainings.

Pay RangesSan Francisco, California: $156,000 – $265,000 USD.
