General Anesthesiologist Job (MD/DO) – Community Hospital OR – Putnam, CT 06260

Provide high-quality perioperative anesthesia care in  Putnam, Connecticut (CT 06260) . This on-site  anesthesiologist job  offers a broad case mix, a friendly and supportive OR team, and consistent scheduling with weeknight/weekend  pager call . Located in Connecticut’s scenic “Quiet Corner” in the northeast part of the state, Putnam offers a welcoming small-town New England feel with easy access to bigger-city amenities—approximately  40 minutes to Hartford and Providence , about  1 hour to Boston , and roughly  3 hours to New York City .

You’ll also be within reach of the  New England coastline  for weekend getaways.

Location:

Putnam, CT 06260 (On-site) – Connecticut physician jobs. Enjoy a small-town New England setting in Connecticut’s “Quiet Corner,” with convenient access to Hartford, Providence, Boston, and the New England coast.

Weekly Estimated Pay:  $10,480–$11,050 per week

Hours per Week:  36

Shifts per Week:  5

Shift Type:
12 Hour Days

Schedule Notes:  Days typically start around 7:00 AM; end time varies based on coverage needs and case volume

Call:  Weeknight and weekend pager call required; approximately 6–10 call shifts per month (low callback volume reported)

Setting:  Community hospital operating room (OR) with 5 anesthesia rooms; physicians both supervise CRNAs and perform their own cases

Charting/EMR:  iPro plus paper documentation

Estimated Privileging Timeframe:  30 days

Privileging Notes:  If a CT license is already in hand, privileging may take approximately 30–60 days; if a CT license is not yet in place, it may take approximately 60–120 days.

Job Requirements

Experience:

Anesthesiology experience in a hospital/OR setting

Education:

MD/DO from an accredited medical school

Training:  Completion of an approved Anesthesiology residency

Licensure:  Active physician license (candidates willing to obtain  Connecticut medical license  are welcome)

Board Status:  Board eligible candidates considered; board certification not required

Call Participation:  Ability and willingness to take weeknight/weekend pager call

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive  perioperative anesthesia  care for surgical and procedural patients across a broad case mix

Perform pre-anesthesia assessments, evaluate risk, and develop individualized anesthesia plans

Obtain and/or verify informed consent; discuss anesthetic options and risks with patients

Manage induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia; continuously monitor physiologic status

Perform clinical interventions and manage perioperative complications as needed

Collaborate with surgeons, nursing, and anesthesia colleagues to support safe, efficient OR throughput

Supervise  CRNAs  as applicable while also performing independent cases

Provide pager call coverage and respond to callbacks when required

Additional cases may include colorectal, cataracts, cystoscopy, ENT, GYN, podiatry, thoracic, GI, pacemakers, TEE, and cardioversion
