Position: Classroom Teacher / Special Education
Job Description:

Putnam Middle School is seeking an innovative and motivated special education teacher who can work to continue to shape student-centered programs designed to meet student needs across grades 5-8. Strong candidates will creatively and collaboratively work with teachers and support staff in the middle school to help design creative learning experiences that support student growth and achievement. This candidate will enhance students independent living and transition skills within the school community, fostering independence and generalization of skills.

Putnam facilitates strong district-wide alignment and support across all three schools in the district to ensure the student's educational experience prepares them for the real world.

Special Education Teacher

LOCATION:

Putnam Middle School - LEAP Program

EXPERIENCE WITH:
Implementing individualized education plans, administering assessments, de-escalation, collaborating with general education teachers and related service providers

QUALIFICATIONS:

CT Certification 165 - Comprehensive Special Education, K-12;

CT Certification 065-Comprehensive Special Education, PK-12;

CT Certification 265 - Comprehensive Special Education, 1-12;

or eligibility for certification required.
